Filled with expectation
and curiosity I sit down.
Finally I will experience
one of the giants in my
field. There is an intense
exciting buzzing in the
room, small squeaks of happiness,
laughter and shouts of joy
from people who knew each
other from before - and
a little more quiet exchange
from the newcomers.
For me, I am seated well
and just for the moment
I allow the sounds and sensations
to flow through and around
me, taking in the environment
without actively responding.
Suddenly a clear voice
mixes into the scenario.
In contrast to the excitement
from the others, a wave
of calm came over the room.
My ears perked up and began
to intently focus. I listened
and directed my attention
to the new voice that was
coming closer and closer.
From all corners of the
room flowed a deep, lowered,
melodic, charismatic sound.
Amazed I felt every part
of me responding, each individual
cell opened and stood erect
in response to this magic
voice. It was absolutely
perfect, soft, pleasant
and endless, like rich dark
velvet, swaddling me in
a condition of safe and
cosy joy.
In the course of a few
moments I was completely
symbiotic with the amazing
voice. It made me feel totally
open, sensitive and willing,
it danced with me, took
me up and down, in and out
of learning, understanding,
curiosity, bewilderment
and laughter. By using his
skills and knowledge on
how we function, he created
the best possible environment
for learning and evolving
merely through his voice.
